Search for Dunnellon man continues October 24, 2007 Search-and-rescue operations in Citrus County continue for a missing boater from Dunnellon. Walter Paris, 78, was reported missing Tuesday when his vessel was found drifting with no one aboard. Paris had gone out fishing earlier in the morning. The boat, a 2003 17-foot-5-inch aluminum bass boat, was discovered by two other fishermen around marker #32, near the mouth of the Withlacoochee River, west of the State Road 40 boat ramp. The U.S. Coast Guard was called to initiate the search. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office are assisting in the search. According to FWC officials, the search operation is ongoing. |
