Boy Scouts:  Camp Shands in Putnam County will host a BSA qualifier tournament on Saturday, March 28.  Troops must register and compete as 5 member teams, junior or senior division.  Contact Steve Robbins in Lake City, 386 754-1051 X-127 or JoAnne Peagler in Ocala, 352 625-2804 to register.

This competition is for young hunters 12 to 18 years old.  It consists of .22 rifle, muzzleloader and shotgun marksmanship, archery proficiency as well as written and hands-on tests of firearms safety, orienteering and wildlife identification.

Shooting Clays Like all other FWC activities, the challenge is free. Firearms, including youth and adult model .22 rifles, 20 gauge shotguns, muzzleloaders and ammo are provided by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Youngsters can also bring their own approved rifle or shotgun, and should bring their own archery equipment (compound and recurve bows are allowed).  See the FWC's YHEC website at MyFWC.com/YHEC for details.

This is an opportunity to get kids involved in hunting and the shooting sports.  Don't miss this chance, let Regional Coordinators Steve Robbins or JoAnne Peagler know that you would like to participate.   Contact them at: Steven.Robbins@MyFWC.com, (386) 754-1051 or JoAnnePeagler@MyFWC.com, (352) 625-2804 during business hours.
