Florida Tree Snail

The Florida tree snail's cone-shaped shell comes in many different colors and patterns. These snails live on trees with smooth bark where they eat tiny plants (fungi, algae and lichens) that grow there. Adult snails dig small holes in the ground, under the trees, to lay their eggs. When the baby snails hatch, they head straight up the nearest tree.
